🇲🇽 One of Mexico's largest internet providers integrated Bitcoin Lightning payments!
Get this, guys! IBEX Mercado, our beloved Bitcoin Lightning payment maestro, just linked up with the Mexican giant Grupo Salinas. This is epic because guess what? Over four million Mexicans can now pay for their cable, internet, and phone service using Bitcoin. Hear that, traditional banks? You might want to up your game. Our man Jose Lemus, CEO of IBEX, is positively buzzing with this news, hinting that this is just the beginning of a Bitcoin revolution in Mexico.
Now, here's where it gets spicier. Total Play, one of Mexico's leading internet providers, just joined the party, integrating Bitcoin Lightning payments into their system, courtesy of IBEX. Oh, and don’t think this is just about buying your morning joe with Bitcoin. As Lemus rightly pointed out, this is all about the future of payment technology. He says it’s not just about swapping how we pay for coffee but about keeping up with the inevitable digitisation of everything. With Lightning now in the mix, it looks like Mexico is sprinting headfirst into this Bitcoin revolution.
So, big up to IBEX and Grupo Salinas for leading the charge.

🇵🇰 Pakistan Prepares to Ice Out Bitcoin Nationwide!
Just when I thought Pakistani politicians could surprise me, they decided to take things to the next level. Despite the enormous amount of dough that Pakistanis are sinking into the digital gold rush, the big shots in Islamabad have decided to go full Terminator on all things Bitcoin. So, they're pretty much stamping out any trace of Bitcoin across the nation. And why? Well, their excuse is they want to stop all those shady transactions using digital loot.
In a bold-faced move, Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha dropped the bomb on the senators that Bitcoin will never see daylight as legal tender in Pakistan. Apparently, they're trying to play nice with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) - the bigwig organization watching over global money shenanigans. Let's not forget, Pakistan just got out of the FATF's doghouse – the "grey list." They've been in that limbo since 2018, all because of some serious gaps in their efforts to stop terrorist financing. Well, Pasha says that FATF insists Bitcoin will stay illegal. Despite a healthy appetite for Bitcoin trading and mining among Pakistanis, the officials are ready to bring down the hammer. It's a classic case of government control versus individual freedom. Classic! So, if you're a Pakistani Bitcoiner, brace yourself for some wild times ahead.
